Project Summary

The Franklin Antonio Hall is an innovative interdisciplinary engineering research hub at UC San Diego that promotes the goal of collaboration between students and faculty in solving the most pressing issues in engineering. Located within the Jacobs School of Engineering, the building dedicates 129,075 square feet to innovative cross-disciplinary research space.

The facility also houses new teaching spaces, research spaces, core facilities, a café and support space. Shared laboratories and work areas support the fostering of collaborative relationships between the various fields of research. The project site also connects to the university’s existing pedestrian paths and bike lanes in order to promote biking and other non-vehicular forms of transportation.
