Steven D. Nasland, PE
CEO and Director of Engineering/Business Development

Steve Nasland is CEO of Nasland Engineering and manages the Engineering and Business Development Divisions.  For more than 46 years, Steve has been responsible for planning, designing, and processing numerous complex projects.  He has extensive experience in civil engineering design and management on public, private, military and institutional projects.

Steve is a graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a registered civil engineer in the states of California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.

Steve is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC of California), and the American Public Works Association (APWA).


D.K. Nasland, PLS, PE 
Emeritus President and Director of Survey/Field Operations

D.K. Nasland serves as President of Nasland Engineering and oversees the firm’s Surveying and Field Operations department.  D.K.’s experience encompasses all areas of land surveying and mapping.  His area of expertise includes utilizing GPS, boundary and topographic surveys, horizontal and vertical control surveys, construction staking, hydrographic surveys, above and below grade utility control and expert witness testimony.

A graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, D.K. is a registered civil engineer and land surveyor registered in the states of California, Arizona, Nevada, and has more than 49 years of experience in his field.

D.K. is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC of California), Chairman of the Joint Professional Practice Committee, a Director of the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County, member of the San Diego Executives Association, and Past President and Past State Director of the California Land Surveyors Association.


Larry Thornburgh, PE, PLS
Director of Engineering

With more than 34 years of experience in the industry, Larry Thornburgh is responsible for the daily operations of the Engineering Department at Nasland Engineering. Larry oversees the engineering and design of municipal projects including roadway improvements, stormwater, sanitary sewer, water main extensions and urban redevelopment projects. Larry coordinates all aspects of projects with local government agencies from initial conceptual design through final design and construction. His experience includes traffic and transportation engineering, site design, water and wastewater systems, utility design, and storm drainage system design as well as the management and coordination of multi-faceted projects.

Larry received his Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering from UC San Diego. He is a registered professional engineer and professional land surveyor in the state of California and he joined Nasland Engineering in 1989.


Cory Schrack, PE, LEED AP BD+C
Senior Project Manager

Cory Schrack received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is a registered civil engineer in the states of California and Idaho. Cory has more than 23 years of experience in providing civil engineering design services, all with Nasland Engineering. His project experience includes site design for commercial and retail, public infrastructure design, military facilities, parks, single-family and multi-family residential, and streetscape improvement design. Cory manages projects for clients throughout the West, and is based in Nasland’s Boise, Idaho office.

Cory is a LEED accredited professional (LEED AP BD+C) and a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD). He has extensive knowledge and experience with sustainable site design including projects recently designed to comply with the principals and guidelines of the LEED program as well as local and regional stormwater requirements. He has experience with numerous projects that have implemented stormwater quantity and quality control, low impact development techniques, site design and stormwater Best Management Practices.


Samuel Waisbord, PE
Senior Project Manager

Samuel Waisbord received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University, California. Samuel has more than 23 years of experience in providing civil engineering design services.

As Project Manager, Samuel is responsible for the design of commercial and retail, residential, educational, and industrial projects, with a focus on streets and roads, sewer, water and drainage systems, stormwater systems, and site planning.

 

 


Jarrett Linn, PE
Project Manager

Jarrett is a registered Civil Engineer with more than 18 years of experience in the construction and engineering field.  As Project Manager, he has provided a variety of design services in transportation, utility infrastructure, and site development for both public agencies and private developers.

Jarrett’s technical experience includes: roadway planning and design, site development planning and design, storm water systems design with low impact development including green street design, hydraulic modeling and design, and hydromodification design.

 


 

Michael Nasland, PE
Project Manager

Michael Nasland is a registered civil engineer in the states of California, Idaho and Oregon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Boise State University and has more than 12 years of experience in the industry. In 2022, Michael and Cory Schrack established a second office location for Nasland Engineering in Boise, Idaho. He is currently based out of the Boise office and manages projects for clients throughout Idaho and Oregon. As Project Manager, Michael is responsible for the design of commercial and retail, mixed-use, multifamily and residential projects, with a focus on site planning, roadway design, sewer, water and drainage systems and stormwater facilities.

 


Daniel Quiñones, PE
Project Manager

Daniel is a graduate of San Diego State University and a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California. He has more than 10 years of experience in providing civil engineering design services. Daniel’s project management experience includes site design for parks and recreation, residential, mixed-use, commercial and retail projects, educational and civic facilities, public infrastructure design and streetscape improvement design.

 

 


John Winn, PLS
Survey Project Manager

John Winn’s 34 years of survey experience includes boundary, topographic and construction surveys for commercial and utility construction, subdivision development and construction, ALTA surveys, GPS, performing calculations, and coordinating work with engineers, contractors, and supervising agencies. John’s skills include efficient management of multi-person survey teams.

John is a registered professional land surveyor in the state of California.
