Project Summary
The KPBS Building at SDSU is a world-class facility that supports the day-to-day operations of the public radio station. The project is located near the entrance to campus on the south central portion of campus near the intersection of Campanile Drive and Lindo Paseo. Due to its prominent location, a significant part of the project involved highlighting its significant spot in the campus environment as an important source of local and community news. As a result, work around the site creates a welcoming and accessible entrance to the building.
The project involved the demolition of the existing entry, storage space, and outdoor patio in order to make room for more workstations and workspace. Nasland provided civil engineering and surveying services in all three phases of work. The first phase included Schematic Design, the second phase included design development and construction document preparation, and the third phase will include bidding, construction administration, and record drawing preparation.
Nasland provided City of San Diego improvement plan permitting for the work within the right-of-way including sidewalks, curb ramps, sidewalk underdrains, and street trees.
