SDSU KPBS Building Addition and Renovation

Location: San Diego, CA
Client: San Diego State University
Completion Date: 2022

Project Summary

The KPBS Building at SDSU is a world-class facility that supports the day-to-day operations of the public radio station. It is located near the campus entrance at Campanile Drive and Lindo Paseo. Because of its prominent location, a key goal of the project was to highlight its role in the campus environment as a hub for local and community news. Site improvements create a welcoming, accessible entrance to the building. The project removed the existing entry, storage area, and outdoor patio to make room for additional workstations and workspace. Nasland provided civil engineering and surveying services across all three phases: schematic design; design development and construction document preparation; and, in Phase 3, bidding, construction administration, and record drawing preparation. Nasland also secured City of San Diego right-of-way permits and prepared improvement plans for sidewalks, curb ramps, sidewalk underdrains, and street trees.
