Project Summary
This project involved the replacement of approximately 550 linear feet of eroded 126” diameter CMP storm drain with a 120” diameter RCP storm drain near the intersection of Florida Drive and Pershing Drive in San Diego. The scope also included the replacement of the existing headwall outlet structure and the addition of a junction structure/cleanout at the joint location with the existing 126” CMP.
Nasland Engineering prepared plans for the storm drain replacement after the 120” pipe failed during the previous rainy season. The plans were completed within two weeks to expedite the replacement process. Nasland was directly contracted with the installing contractor, and the design was finalized in under one month. Construction was completed in approximately five months, with the timing critical to ensure the new pipe was installed before the next rainy season.
